AFP Urges House to Pass Budget Resolution
Time Is Now for Pro-Growth Policies – Trump Tax Cuts Must Be Renewed or Impacts Will Be Devastating
ARLINGTON, VA— Americans for Prosperity (AFP) applauds the House of Representatives for passing a budget resolution, allowing Congress to begin work on a reconciliation bill that renews the 2017 Trump tax cuts, brings certainty to employers, and avoids massive tax increases on American working families and industry.
“AFP applauds the House of Representatives for passing the budget resolution. This vote is the next step toward Congress delivering pro-growth economic policies for American families,” said AFP chief government affairs officer Brent Gardner. “AFP will always champion reforms that revitalize the economy and unleash the potential of American workers and businesses. We proudly stood with President Trump and congressional leaders to support the landmark Tax Cut and Jobs Act in 2017, and our grassroots army is as committed as ever to advancing economic freedom.”
In January, AFP launched the largest effort by any conservative group to support President Trump’s pro-growth policies with the $20 million Protect Prosperity campaign.

The Protect Prosperity campaign is mobilizing AFP’s grassroots army across all 50 states to reach millions of voters on the phone and at their doorsteps. The campaign elevates the voices of lawmakers who support pro-growth tax cuts while holding accountable those who oppose this agenda, with the goal of delivering tax relief to American families and businesses.
The campaign features a robust 50-state media engagement strategy and lobbying effort. AFP will conduct more than 1,000 meetings with Congressional offices on Capitol Hill and elevate Members’ voices with in-district events with our activists, organize roundtables with job creators, and share testimonials from real American families and businesses who would suffer if Congress fails to renew the Trump tax cuts.
