Arlington, Va. – Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips issued the following statement after President Trump issued four executive orders in response to Congress’ negotiations on COVID-19 assistance legislation:
“Congress’ lack of focus on solutions that will help the American people emerge from this pandemic has enabled this scenario. Whether President Obama or President Trump, legislating by executive order – even in the face of congressional partisanship and disarray – never has and never will be the proper way to govern. It’s clear Congress needs to put politics aside and put its focus back on the American people.”
