Columbia, SC – This week, as California governor Gavin Newsom visits South Carolina, Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina (AFP-SC) State Director Matt Humm released the following statement:
“Gavin Newsom isn’t touring South Carolina to learn how a state should be run – he’s auditioning for higher office. Before asking South Carolinians to trust his vision for America, Newsom should explain why so many Californians are choosing to move out of state – including to South Carolina – for lower taxes and less government control. If Newsom wants to be president, he should first have to explain why the policies he has championed in California are driving people to states like South Carolina that embrace limited government.”
