Concord, NH — The Center for Modern Health and the Knee Regulatory Research Center released their 2026 Health Freedom Index, an assessment that compiles state-level data on the degree of choice and freedom available to patients, healthcare professionals, insurers, and entrepreneurs. Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) released a statement applauding the Granite State’s #6 ranking.
AFP-NH Deputy State Director Sarah Scott said:
“AFP-NH has been fighting to put patients back in control of their own health care, and we are proud to see our efforts pay off with New Hampshire’s ranking in the 2026 Health Freedom Index. We pushed lawmakers to strengthen Right to Try so patients with serious illnesses aren’t stuck waiting on Washington when they’ve run out of options, and we fought back against a proposed health care tax that would have raised insurance premiums on Granite State families.
“While this ranking is a great improvement from recent years, there’s still more work to do to fully unleash competition and choice in New Hampshire’s health care system, such as fighting to open the door for direct-pay health care facilities so patients can work directly with their provider instead of fighting through insurance red tape. AFP-NH will continue working with patients and lawmakers to ensure Granite Staters have the freedom to choose the health care that’s right for them.”
