Lincoln, NE – Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska (AFP-NE) launched a new accountability effort Friday, calling out the biggest spenders in the state legislature by telling them in no uncertain terms to look in the mirror.
The new campaign kicked off by targeting select lawmakers with the worst voting records when it comes to spending by mailing them compact mirrors with messaging that highlights their support for policies that will continue to drive up costs for Nebraska families. By voting for policies that continually raise property taxes and give activist judges control over your freedom, these lawmakers are continuing an unsustainable status quo.
The mirrors highlight the ongoing frustrations for those families and small businesses who are struggling with affordability, and reflect AFP-NE’s larger efforts to drive those costs down with sensible, principled policies.
The mirrors were sent to the following lawmakers:
- Senator George Dungan
- Senator John Fredrickson
AFP Regional Director Jesse Mallory gave the following statement:
“Nebraskans need fiscal responsibility, not more spending, and yet there are some lawmakers in Lincoln who still don’t understand this. While families struggle to pay their bills and business owners struggle to keep the lights on, these lawmakers continue to support policies that will raise costs and send prices through the roof. If they still can’t understand why Nebraskans are complaining about affordability, all they have to do is look in the mirrors we’ve kindly sent them in the mail.”
