AFP-Montana Launches Campaign Recognizing Lawmakers, Holding Obstructions Accountable for Key Votes in Helena

BOZEMAN, MT — Today, Americans for Prosperity-Montana (AFP-MT) launched its accountability campaign promoting good policy and holding policymakers accountable when they undermine core principles of limited government, individual freedom, and fiscal responsibility. The campaign focuses on legislative votes on HB2 (state budget), HB231 (property taxes), three judicial reform bills, reauthorizing Medicaid expansion, capping Medicaid expansion enrollees and education choice.

Through grassroots, mail and digital efforts, Montana State legislators will be thanked and highlighted for advancing education freedom, judicial reform and reining in government overspending. Legislators who voted for HB 231, blocked school choice, property rights or advanced judicial politicization will be held accountable.

AFP-MT will be targeting constituents of lawmakers in Billings, Bozeman, Helena, Kalispell and Missoula through calls, tele-town halls, direct mail and digital ads.

AFP-MT State Director Jesse Ramos issued the following statement:

“AFP-MT is dedicated to recognizing policy champions for their votes advancing Montana prosperity and holding them accountable for obstructing education freedom and pro-economic growth policies.

“This effort is the most significant accountability program AFP-MT has undertaken, and our grassroots army will focus on thanking and holding lawmakers accountable for their votes.

“We hope that legislators pay more attention to the principled positions supported by AFP-MT and thousands of activists around the state, whether education choice and freedom, pension reform, regulatory relief, health care reform, worker freedom, or judicial reform.”

AFP-MT Deputy State Director Henry Kriegel issued the following statement:
