JEFFERSON CITY- Americans for Prosperity Missouri (AFP-MO) applauded Governor Kehoe for his bold action today establishing first in the nation guardrails on Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology, including Flock safety cameras. These guardrails are aimed at addressing the risk of misuse of this technology, as well as protecting the civil liberties of everyday Missourians.
AFP-MO State Director Gary Hollis released the following statement:
“AFP Missouri appreciates Governor Kehoe’s timely and bold executive order requiring guardrails around the government’s use of automated license plate readers. Like many Americans across the country, Missourians have become increasingly concerned about the personal privacy violations that occur with ALPR systems. We look forward to working with the General Assembly next session to codify protections for the people of Missouri and to ensure their personal privacy rights.”
