MACKINAC ISLAND, MI — As Pete Buttigieg joins political leaders and national figures at this week’s Mackinac Policy Conference, Americans for Prosperity-Michigan (AFP-MI) emphasized that Michiganders are still looking for real solutions to the affordability and economic challenges facing families across the state.
AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding issued the following statement:
“Michigan families do not need more polished speeches from the architects of the economic policies that helped drive up costs and deepen financial uncertainty over the last several years. They need leaders focused on making life more affordable, strengthening economic opportunity, and removing barriers holding Michigan back.
“While Pete Buttigieg arrives at Mackinac to defend the status quo, leaders like Mike Rogers, John James, and Jack Bergman are focused on advancing policies that strengthen economic growth, improve energy reliability, expand opportunity, and restore confidence in Michigan’s economic future. Under Speaker Matt Hall’s leadership, Michigan House Republicans have already delivered meaningful progress on key issues facing families and job creators, and Michiganders are looking for continued leadership focused on real solutions rather than more political rhetoric.
“Mackinac should be about serious conversations on how to move Michigan forward, not another opportunity for national political figures to ignore the real economic pressures facing people across this state.”
