AFP-Iowa State Director Drew Klein had this to say about the campaign:

“Thanksgiving is the perfect time to for Washington lawmakers to set partisan differences aside and join together to forward meaningful legislation that is going to improve peoples’ lives. Particularly on criminal justice reform, lawmakers have an incredible opportunity to pass the FIRST STEP Act, which will reduce crime and recidivism, save money, and help people get a much-needed second chance in life. Senator Grassley has been a champion on this issue. We encourage Mitch McConnell to bring this legislation to the floor and for his colleagues to get this over the finish line before Christmas.”
