INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Americans for Prosperity–Indiana (AFP-IN) today announced the promotion of Cody White to State Director. White began his journey with AFP as a volunteer in 2017 before joining the organization as a staff member, most recently serving as Deputy Indiana State Director and previously as Director of Grassroots Operations. He has worked in Indiana politics since 2017.
As part of AFP’s mission to unleash prosperity through lower taxes, reducing regulatory burdens, and bolstering individual freedoms, Cody recently wrote an opinion piece for the Hamilton County Reporter outlining why voters should reject the property tax referendum on the ballot.
An excerpt of the op-ed is below:
“The school board knew for eight years exactly when the current referendum levy would expire. Eight years is plenty of notice. Yet the district now relies on those temporary referendum dollars to fund ongoing expenses, and taxpayers are being warned of significant consequences if they don’t authorize another.
“That’s not something Indianapolis did to Noblesville. It reflects decisions made here about how to budget referendum revenue and what would happen when the levy expired.”
AFP-IN State Director Cody White released the following statement:
“I’m thrilled to lead AFP-Indiana as State Director. Over the past seven years, our grassroots activists have built a formidable program that shapes policy debates in Indianapolis and in communities across the state. Indiana shows the rest of the country what’s possible when government gets out of the way and empowers people to build and invest.
“But there’s more to do. Hoosiers have made it clear they want lower taxes and more accountability from their government, and high costs are still squeezing families. We will keep fighting for real property tax relief, smarter regulation, and a government that earns the trust of the people it serves. We’re just getting started.”
