AFP’s Tax Day Ads Warn Americans of Massive Tax Hikes Next Year if TCJA Not Renewed

Salem, OR – Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is launching a seven-figure ad and grassroots campaign highlighting what will be a Tax Day nightmare next year for working families across Oregon if Congress fails to renew the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). This critical legislation has provided essential tax relief to families and small businesses nationwide and is overwhelmingly supported by hardworking Americans.

AFP Western Regional State Director Heather Andrews released the following statement:

“The 2017 Trump tax cuts were the most pro-growth tax reform efforts in American history, and AFP was proud to work alongside President Trump and leaders in Congress to give hardworking Americans much needed relief.

“At the end of the year, key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will expire. As a result, the average hardworking family in Oregon will face a $2,424 federal tax hike. AFP is committed to reminding taxpayers that lawmakers like Rep. Janelle Bynum are standing in the way of extending the Trump tax cuts for Oregon families, workers, and small businesses so they keep more of their hard-earned money.”

This campaign is a continuation of AFP’s $20 million commitment made in January  – the largest investment of any outside limited-government conservative organization in support of a key pillar of President Trump’s agenda. In 2023 and 2024, AFP and AFP Action reached out to nearly 30 million voters.

AFP is currently engaged in efforts to protect Oregon’s “kicker” tax rebate, which keeps money in the hands of hardworking taxpayers rather than bureaucrats, ultimately saving Oregonians over a billion dollars.
