Olympia, WA — Americans for Prosperity (AFP) released the following statement after the Washington Senate passed SB 6346, an income tax that would increase the financial burden on Washingtonians.

AFP Western Region Director Heather Andrews said:

“The Senate has failed to listen to Washingtonians by passing SB 6346. This legislation will affect workers, small businesses, and families across the state, undermining Washington’s economic competitiveness. We are disappointed in the Senate for passing this policy despite clear concerns from Washingtonians, and we urge the House to oppose this harmful legislation that will make it harder to live, work, and build a future in Washington.”

In case you missed it, Andrews joined The Jason Rantz show to discuss SB 6346 and AFP’s grassroots work to educate Washingtonians on how this harmful legislation would hurt small businesses, job creators, and Washington’s economic competitiveness.

In 2025, Americans for Prosperity unveiled “Taxed Enough Washington”, a campaign highlighting Washington’s proposed burdensome taxes, such as state income tax and payroll taxes on employers.
