LITTLE ROCK- As this State legislative session comes to an end, Americans for Prosperity Arkansas (AFP-AR) provided a glimpse on what comes next on the road ahead in their “Pathway to Zero” State Income Tax elimination plan. This economic roadmap from AFP-AR has been met with broad support and has a groundswell of support in the Natural State. At a time when inflation and broader cost-of-living pressures continue to strain family budgets, every bit of relief matters.
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has weighed in on the elimination of the State Income Tax, stating:
“We’ve already reduced taxes and gotten rid of that burden for so many Arkansans; this is something that further helps us get to zero for everybody. That’s the ultimate goal, and we’re going to continue ticking away and responsibly phase out our state’s income tax.”
AFP-AR State Director Ryan Norris released the following statement:
“AFP Arkansas strongly supports the long-term goal of responsibly phasing out the state income tax and believes Arkansans broadly support that direction as well. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has made clear that continuing to reduce and ultimately phase out the Arkansas state income tax remains a long-term priority of her administration. Arkansas taxpayers are appreciative of the tax relief Governor Sanders has enacted during her tenure, which has helped countless Arkansans and working families across the state. We look forward to continuing to partner in educating citizens across the state on the economic and financial benefits they could realize through a responsible ‘Pathway to Zero’ plan.”
