Washington, DC – With legislative text of the reconciliation bill released yesterday, AFP applauds the House Energy & Commerce Committee for their commitment to eliminating billions of dollars in waste and fraud, while preserving access to critical medical care for those who need it.

AFP Chief Government Affairs Office Brent Gardner issued the following statement:

“On behalf of our members nationwide, we applaud Chairman Guthrie and all the Members of the House Energy & Commerce Committee who demonstrated a clear commitment to rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse wherever they found it.

“Americans deserve a government that respects their tax dollars, fixes what’s broken, and works for the people who rely on it. The legislation coming out of this committee is an important first step to improving and modernizing our federal government and focusing programs and services on helping the people they were created to help.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Members of the House and Senate to find more cost savings and efficiency to make even more of these tax cuts permanent and deliver the most pro-growth policy possible to the President’s desk.”
