NASHVILLE – Americans for Prosperity-Tennessee (AFP-TN) is launching their Volunteer Way legislative agenda, helping lawmakers understand the top grassroots priorities across Tennessee.
The top priority for conservative grassroots advocates in Tennessee is passing the REGULATORY FREEDOM ACT, making it easier to cut regulations while ensuring our elected leaders, not bureaucrats are accountable for laws passed instead of rules published. AFP printed Tennessee’s entire regulatory code, which is currently 8,300,000 words long and creates nearly 122,000 individual regulations. This amount of red tape clearly demonstrates the need for serious reform.
The Volunteer Way highlights policy targets Americans for Prosperity has identified to address the top issues facing Tennesseans: education, healthcare, regulations, and taxes.
Tori Venable, AFP-TN State Director, highlighted the importance of the Volunteer Way:
“Our agenda is a product of thousands of conversations with Tennesseans who want to see lower taxes, less government, more freedom and better education. We bring hundreds of citizen lobbyists with us to the Capitol to make a difference in the policies that affect their daily lives. When things are done the ‘Volunteer Way’, we lead the nation in reforms that fuel growth, slash bureaucracy, and leave more money in Tennesseans’ pockets.”
AFP-TN is hosting events across the state in the New Year, partnering with local leaders and state lawmakers to talk about the priorities for 2026. Events will be open to the public. For locations and information, visit this site.
