West Virginia Is Now The 26th Right-To-Work State
It’s official – there are now more right-to-work states in the U.S. than union shop states.
West Virginia officially became the 26th right-to-work state Friday when state lawmakers overrode the Governor’s veto of the legislation passed earlier in the week.
Now that the law is on the books, mandatory union dues or fees as a condition of employment are outlawed. For a state in which less than one in two people are working, right-to-work will bring businesses back to the state and provide jobs and opportunities to thousands of people who are in desperate need.
“Today members of both chambers of the West Virginia legislature set the state on the course for job-growth by finalizing passage of right-to-work,” State Director Jason Huffman told The Daily Caller. “We applaud their swift response to the governor’s veto and we are excited for the opportunities that have been created for the Mountain State.”
