An Open Letter to Congress as You Respond to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic:

CALL TO ACTION

THE COMPANIES THAT MAKE THEIR LIFE SIMPLE

This union bosses bill has far-reaching implications that affect everyone from business owners to freelance and gig workers, to consumers. It vastly helps a concentrated few who are politically connected and harms the many Americans it leaves out to dry.

“The Protecting the Right to Organize Act” (PRO Act) is designed by union bosses to do the opposite of its stated goal of empowering workers.

  1. The PRO Act overturns the will of the people in 27 states via a national veto of right-to-work laws.
  2. The PRO Act forces a large swath of independent contractors into employee/employer relationships they seek to avoid or puts them out of a job altogether.
  3. The PRO Act compels employers to hand over their employee’s sensitive personal information to labor union representatives, exposing them to intimidation or harassment.

We know the results are bad, because California has already tried a similar law, AB5, with disastrous results for its economy.  California effectively outlawed many types of freelance work, killed thousands of jobs, and cost their businesses billions in extra payroll expenses.

Will you help us stop the PRO Act and expand worker freedom instead by signing our Statement of Principles for Worker Freedom?

We need thousands of activists like you to agree and commit to take action if we are to succeed.

I support the right of individuals to choose whether or not to join a labor union and give a portion of their hard-earned paychecks to pay union dues.

STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES FOR WORKER FREEDOM

I support worker freedom because:

I support the right of individual states to determine their own employment laws.

I support the right of individuals to pursue independent contracting relationships so they can set their own hours and enhance their economic potential.

I support the right of employees to keep their personal information private from labor union bosses.

Our conviction is that workers, not government, should determine their own participation in a union.

The health care battle is crucial, and we need YOUR help to defeat it.

Those demanding a government-takeover of health care are on the march. Whether you call it Medicare for All, single-payer, or socialized medicine the result is the same – higher costs, more bureaucracy and paperwork, longer wait time, and less access to the doctors you trust. The battle for control of your healthcare has started in Washington and if we don’t act now, it could be too late.

Members of Congress are working as we speak to force a vote on a spending package that includes destructive provisions that would make a complete government takeover of health care easier than ever before. This includes, but is not limited to, their efforts to remove the filibuster and even the reconciliation process for the “infrastructure” bill could include a partial takeover of health care.

This is why Americans for Prosperity has launched the “Stop the Health Care Heist” campaign to make sure that health care policies stay out the “infrastructure” discussions.

Our goal is to create a coalition of people willing to save health care from government control.

If you care about the future of your health care and that of every American, will you join us?

Please read and sign the pledge below:

I am committed to standing up for more transparency, consumer options, and quality in health care. I believe that health care should remain private and personal. I believe that a top-down government approach only leads to worse care, worse quality health care, and less access to doctors and life-saving drugs.

Turn our culture away from government dependence.

Join the fight to prevent a government takeover of health care.
