AFP-FL applauds Committee for voting to end corporate welfare, moving to the House floor for full vote
TALLAHASSEE – Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL), the state’s leading grassroots organization against corporate welfare is applauding a vote by the House Appropriations Committee to send a bill that will eliminate Enterprise Florida and other quasi-government function responsible for wasteful taxpayer handouts for a full vote on the House floor.
“Over the past two weeks, principled lawmakers have debated the merits of finally eliminating programs that stack the deck against hardworking Florida taxpayers and entrepreneurs,” said state director, Chris Hudson. “Today’s vote to push HB 7005 forward should be a signal to taxpayers that principled lawmakers will not succumb to pressure from special interests or political sideshows. The legislators that voted to eliminate Enterprise Florida are doing right by taxpayers. We work hard to provide for our families, and it’s wrong for government to think it can take from our pockets and redistribute to their well-connected corporate allies.”
