Sen. Ted Cruz has joined other US Senators in introducing legislation which provides school choice to the most kids and parents across the country.

The federal legislation – Enhancing Educational Opportunities for All Act – was filed by Sen. Ted Cruz along with U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, fromUtah, and U.S. Rep. Luke Messer,  from Ind., to allow Title 1 funds to follow low-income students to any public or private school of their choice; remove limits to Coverdell Educational Savings Accounts; and expand “529” Savings Accounts to cover K-12 elementary and secondary education expenses.

Sen. Cruz provides powerful commentary:

All parents and students who want educational choice should have it. Yet in Texas alone, 100,000 kids are waiting to be admitted to charter schools, and throughout the nation, more than a million children await acceptance into charter schools.

We cannot waitlist our children’s future. Now is the time to open the gateway of opportunity to children across the country.

“We need to expand vouchers, education savings account programs and educational options for all children, regardless of their race, ethnicity or zip code.

It’s time to unlock the gates of liberty and unleash the potential of every child to become the next chapter in the nation’s history of exceptionalism.”
