Braley Doubles Down on ObamaCare, While Iowa Families Face Higher Premiums and Lost Coverage

Des Moines – Americans for Prosperity – Iowa has released its latest ad holding Congressman Bruce Braley accountable for his votes and statements in support of Obamacare. The ad, which runs statewide, includes multiple quotes from Rep. Braley and President Obama in defense of the law.

“Rep. Braley shows that he is out-of-touch with reality and Iowa taxpayers when he claims that the Affordable Care Act is doing a lot of great things in Iowa,’” explained Mark Lucas, Iowa state director of Americans for Prosperity. “He just doesn’t get it — Obamacare is leaving Iowa families with cancelled plans, lost doctors, and higher premiums. It’s time for Rep. Braley to listen to Iowan’s and stop defending this terrible law.”

The ad is part of a nationwide series of ads to put pressure on Congress to repeal Obamacare. President Obama’s promise that “If you like your plan, you can keep it” was rated as the Lie of the Year by Politifact, yet Democrat senators have continued to support Obama’s signature law. AFP’s accountability message will run on cable and broadcast networks, and will be supported by radio and online ads as well as robust grassroots action throughout the state.

Last Fall, AFP spent over $16 million on a series of TV ads holding politicians accountable for their support of ObamaCare, and thanking others who have stood against the law.
