Micromobility, Scooters Power Florida’s Transportation Capabilities

AFP-FL applauds House Committee passage of House Bill 453 to empower Floridians to make transportation decisions that fit their needs

Tallahassee, Fla: Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL), the state’s leading grassroots advocacy group today applauded the passage of House Bill 453, Micromobility Devices and Motorized Scooters, sponsored by State Representative Jackie Toledo (R-Tampa), out of the Florida House State Affairs Committee.

AFP-FL state director, Skylar Zander, released the following statement:

“Floridians should have access to the innovative and reliable transportation options that meet their needs. Micromobility empowers Floridians with more options to travel with ease. We thank the members of the Florida House State Affairs Committee for creating a framework for the operation of micromobility devices and for-hire motorized scooters, and we encourage the full House to support HB 453.”

HB 453 is next expected to be considered by the full House of Representatives. Similar legislation in the senate, SB 542, has passed its first two committees of reference and is scheduled to be heard next in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
