Mark Lucas is the senior vice president of grassroots at Americans for Prosperity. He previously served as the executive director of Concerned Veterans for America, regional director of Americans for Prosperity and the Iowa state director. Under his leadership, the Iowa chapter of AFP grew to be the highest-performing in the organization in only two years.
Mark was the youngest-ever elected city councilman at the age of 19 in his hometown of Wilton, Iowa. Midway through his term he was appointed as the mayor pro tem.
Mark has served for over 14 years in the Iowa Army National Guard and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School. He led an infantry rifle platoon along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border as a platoon leader. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star Medal by distinguishing himself for meritorious service in combat.
He received his Business Management degree from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business with a certificate in Entrepreneurial Management.
