Dear Representatives:
On behalf of the more than two million Americans for Prosperity activists in all 50 states, I write to urge you to vote YES on legislation that would expedite the approval process for liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects.
I urge you to vote YES on H.R. 351, to expedite approval for LNG export projects. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.
Today the United States is a global leader in energy and this bill would enable the U.S. to continue its economic energy expansion by exporting LNG overseas. This would strengthen our economy at home and also be a boon to our allies overseas.
In addition to promoting American energy, this is a jobs bill, as well. This legislation would create up to 45,000 American construction jobs while also cutting bureaucratic red tape and reducing needless delays. The Department of Energy (DOE) would have to issue a final decision within 30 days, following the conclusion of an environmental review. Similar legislation was introduced in the 113th Congress and had bi-partisan support. It’s imperative that the United States Congress continues to push for legislation like H.R. 351 in maintaining a robust, job creating energy policy.
I urge you to vote YES on H.R. 351, to expedite approval for LNG export projects. Americans for Prosperity will include this vote in our congressional scorecard.
