I don’t believe that investing in improvements in our infrastructure should be our top priority as we continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Specifically, I ask you to do this because:

I don’t believe we can afford it. You already passed a $1.9 Trillion “COVID Relief” bill not too long ago, and this $4 Trillion bill would nearly double our existing national debt.

Many of the items in the $4 Trillion proposals for the “Infrastructure Bill” don’t have anything to do with our infrastructure. Congress should limit the scope of any true infrastructure bill to be focused just on our infrastructure.

I believe that the likely path to pay for the $4 Trillion “Infrastructure Bill” will be to increase taxes on individuals and businesses, which will eliminate jobs and limit the economy from getting back to where it was before the pandemic (or better).

The proposal for this so-called “Infrastructure Bull” actually contains trillions in new spending for programs that would harm the economy and that have nothing to do with improving "infrastructure."

And how would Washington pay for it? Likely with tax hikes that would worsen our devastated economy, hurt workers' wages, crush small business — only to fall far short of paying for this partisan wish list.

For these reasons, I demand that when it comes time to vote on the “Infrastructure Bill” that you — as my representative(s) in Congress — represent my beliefs and vote to REJECT this bill.

Sincerely,

Dear Leader Pelosi, Leader Schumer, Leader McCarthy, and Leader McConnell,

Today I write to you as my elected officials to inform you of my beliefs and demand that you REJECT the upcoming “Infrastructure Bill.” The ink is barely dry on Washington's $1.9 trillion spending proposal and lawmakers are already using the same "go big" rhetoric to pass another package at TWICE the cost, but this time in the name of "infrastructure."

President Biden's so-called infrastructure proposal is shaping up to be the most expensive in American history, costing $4 TRILLION — paid for by one of the largest tax increases in history, and much of it has nothing to do with improving our roads and bridges.

An Open Letter to Congress:
DO NOT PASS THE "INFRASTRUCTURE BILL!"
