ICYMI: AFP-NE taking a stand for school choice

Aug 6, 2014 by AFP

Over the weekend the Omaha World Herald, the Washington Times, and others highlighted AFP-NE’s push for school choice, charter schools in this case, in Nebraska.

AFP-NE director, Matt Litt, said, “Families should not be hindered by their zip code; they should have more education options and get to choose the school that best suits them.”

While there are those who wish to keep school choice out of Nebraska, the majority of citizens want more choices in education. For example, according to a survey by our sister organization, Americans for Prosperity Foundation-NE, 65% of Nebraska approve of charter schools. A few politicians are standing in the way of better education in Nebraska.
