ICYMI: AFP-FL Brought Broward Residents Back to 2021 by Lowering the Price of Gasoline at Hollywood Marathon

The “True Cost of Washington” tour stopped in Hollywood, FL, today to highlight the rising costs of recent federal policies

Hollywood, FL – Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL) partnered with Hollywood Marathon today to reduce the price of regular gas to $2.38 per gallon for customers – a glimpse back in time to the national average in mid-January 2021. The event was a part of AFP’s “True Cost of Washington” campaign, a nationwide awareness initiative highlighting the federal policies skyrocketing the price of gasoline and everyday goods.

“We launched the ‘True Cost of Washington’ campaign to highlight how the rising cost of gas imposes a tremendous burden on consumers and businesses,” said Carrie Thompson-Patrick, AFP-FL Deputy State Director. “Events like the one hosted in Hollywood today are part of a nationwide event Series providing relief to Americans, educating them on the policies behind rising costs, and empowering them to make their voices heard on the issue.

We were honored to welcome Florida Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez, Julio Fuentes, President of the Florida state Hispanic Chamber or Commerce, as well as AFP activists and concerned citizens, to discuss the truth behind rising costs – while proposing real solutions that make everyday life more affordable for Floridians and their businesses.”
