Governor Hassan’s Anti-Innovation Education Nominee Approved by Executive Council

MANCHESTER – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today questioned Governor Hassan’s commitment to education innovation with her nomination of Bill Duncan to the State Board of Education.  Duncan’s nomination was approved by the Executive Council today 3-2.

“Governor Hassan likes to tout herself as an advocate of ‘innovation’ but her actions show that she’s stuck in the past,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director.  “Bill Duncan is the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit to block the implementation of a state law to expand school choice options for New Hampshire residents.  Rather than fighting for innovation; he is actually actively working to prevent much-needed reforms that would increase opportunities for New Hampshire parents.  Governor Hassan’s idea of education innovation is clearly out of touch with the needs of New Hampshire families as this nomination proves.”
