Topeka, KS—On Friday, Americans for Prosperity-Kansas (AFP-KS) held an event outside of the Westlake Ace Hardware to highlight the dangers posed by the Right of First Refusal (ROFR) and other policies in Kansas that could negatively impact electric rates during the upcoming legislative session.
AFP-KS spoke with dozens of shoppers about ROFR which is expected to take center stage in the next legislative session and encouraged them to take action by contacting their elected officials.
Today, AFP-KS will return to Westlake Ace Hardware from 11 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to continue the conversation on keeping energy costs affordable for all Kansans and providing free packages of lightbulbs. Media is welcome to attend for coverage.
AFP-KS State Director, Liz Patton, made the following statement:
“AFP has heard from countless Kansans concerned over energy costs and keeping our state affordable through pro-consumer policies. Next session, we’re excited to work with lawmakers to ensure competition, not state-sanctioned monopolies, are at the forefront of our work to deliver affordable solutions for our energy abundant state.”
