Americans for Prosperity-Arkansas Calls for Tax Reform During Special Session Due to Massive Revenue Surplus Projections

Little Rock, AR—With the likely special session set to unfold, Americans for Prosperity-Arkansas (AFP-AR) is calling upon legislators to leverage the state’s expected revenue surplus to provide tax relief for hardworking Arkansans.

AFP-AR State Director, Ryan Norris, released the following statement:

“In Arkansas, there is a great need for tax cuts that can help lower inflation. Economic policies from Washington framed as ‘Bidenomics’ have made life more expensive than ever before. Overall prices are up 19.8% with U.S. families needing an additional $1,074 each month to afford the same quality of life they had before ‘Bidenomics.’

“An extra $1,000 a month doesn’t fit in the budget for many Arkansas families. However, our state legislators can directly provide help by working towards tax reform during the special session. With our state’s massive projected $708 million budget surplus, an income tax reduction ought to be a priority in the legislature.”
