Little Rock, AR—Americans for Prosperity-Arkansas (AFP-AR) said National School Choice Week is the perfect time to celebrate opportunities that fit learners’ unique needs as thousands gather around the nation to highlight access to a variety of education pathways.
AFP-AR has long stood for the value that education should not be a one-size-fits-all model that limits parents from making the best choices for their children. This week, AFP’s grassroots base is joining National School Choice Week in cities around the country to carry the momentum for expanded and diverse learning options.
AFP-AR State Director, Ryan Norris, released the following statement:
“We are thrilled to celebrate National School Choice Week, a time to recognize and appreciate the diverse educational options available to families across Arkansas. To best serve Arkansas’ learners and their future aspirations, we must continue to work with legislators to ensure all opportunities for education freedom and growth remain available while supporting traditional public schools, private schools, homeschooling, micro schooling and other pathways to success.”
Background
Last year, AFP-AR’s grassroots base helped defeat a ballot initiative that was highly duplicative of and sought to undermine Arkansas’ LEARNS Act which established the Education Savings Account program. Believing in empowering parents to choose the best educational path for their children, AFP-AR has applauded Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders for championing education freedom and making it a top priority in her agenda.
