COLUMBIA, SC—Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina (AFP-SC) announced its support of State Rep. Carla Schuessler to continue serving residents of House District 61. The announcement follows the release of five candidates AFP-SC put the weight of its grassroots activists behind, making the total six endorsements for this cycle thus far.
AFP-SC is confident that these principled leaders will take on issues that unleash economic prosperity and freedom, but specifically highlighted Rep. Schuessler’s bold support for expanding school choice in the state.
AFP-SC State Director, Candace Carroll, released the following statement:
“In South Carolina we’re thankful to have Education Scholarship Accounts (ESAs), but with the growing need for personalized learning options we must make this program universal to meet the demand. Rep. Schuessler has been leading the way on this issue and we’re thrilled to stand with her in this fight to ensure every child has access to an education that works for them.”
Representative Schuessler has been a proven leader and collaborator with AFP-SC as the organization also noted her role in Judicial Merit Selection reforms that passed earlier this session. Her support for expanding health care options by repealing Certificate of Need laws aligns her with AFP-SC’s mission to unleash competition and access to care.
Background
AFP-SC will connect with South Carolina residents ahead of the June 11, 2024, primary for the six candidates through direct mail, radio and digital ads, and deploying grassroots activists to door knock in key legislative districts across the state.
