Competitive free-market economies have given us some of the most revolutionary innovations in history.
At this year’s annual Defending the American Dream Summit, keynote speaker FCC Chairman Ajit Pai will discuss his work to keep the government from over-regulating arguably the greatest of these: the internet.
Chairman Pai recently began crucial work to roll back harmful Obama-era internet regulations known as ‘net neutrality’ rules and sat down with AFP to discuss these efforts.
“People want better faster and cheaper internet, so we are looking at what FCC policies can best deliver on that promise,” Pai explained. “The free markets that we all believe in will better deliver value for American consumers, so we are starting conversations to get rid of these regulations.”

Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips probably put it best when he said: “Chairman Pai has long been a leader in identifying these overly burdensome regulations in his industry, and helping ensure those sometimes-complex issues resonate with the public. We’re grateful he’ll be joining us once again, this time in his new capacity as chairman.”
The Chairman will take the main state alongside Virginia House Speaker-Designee Kirk Cox who will discuss his vision for tax reform in 2017 and beyond.
This year’s conference is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet with attendees getting to hear from speakers on everything from how to advance policies that promote a free and open society to preserving a free and open internet.
Attendees will also gain insider knowledge from panel discussions focused on advancing freedom through critical efforts like energy reform, health care reform, educational choice and taxes and spending.
The Defending the American Dream Summit is always the highlight of the year for AFP activists. It is a unique opportunity for limited-government advocates to come together, sharpen their skills and build relationship that can have meaningful impacts on public policy.
