Defending the American Dream Summit Heads to Heart of Freedom Movement

Jun 2, 2017 by AFP

“Give me liberty, or give me death!” History holds that this impassioned pronouncement—a call to arms in defense of freedom— was made by Patrick Henry, a 38-year-old lawyer and delegate of the Second Virginia Convention, on March 23, 1775 at St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia.

242 years later, Americans for Prosperity is bringing the 11th annual Defending the American Dream Summit to the city where Henry’s call sparked the first flames of our nation’s fight for freedom.

This August, the volunteer conference will gather hundreds of grassroots activists in Richmond, Virginia for the first time and you won’t want to miss it!

Each summer, AFP assembles volunteers from across the country dedicated to the fight for limited government. They come together at the summit to celebrate recent policy victories; sharpen their grassroots advocacy skills; attend hands-on breakout sessions; network with their peers; and hear from prominent thought leaders across the conservative movement.

AFP is excited to announce that the first highly anticipated keynote speaker for this year’s summit is Virginia’s very own Speaker-Designee M. Kirkland Cox, who will share his vision for tax reform and the state of Virginia in 2017 and beyond.

Attendees will also gain insider knowledge from panel discussions focused on advancing freedom through critical efforts like energy reform, health care reform, educational choice and taxes and spending.

The Defending the American Dream Summit is always the highlight of the year for AFP activists. It is a unique opportunity for limited-government advocates to come together, sharpen their skills and build relationship that can have meaningful impacts on public policy.

Don’t miss out on what is sure to be an unforgettable day! And stay tuned for more exciting announcements on what this year’s Summit will hold!
