Deeds Mean More than Words, Governor Hickenlooper

Americans for Prosperity-Colorado State Director Dustin Zvonek released the following statement in response to Gov. John Hickenlooper’s January 9th State of the State address.

“This governor has been masterful at sounding very reasonable in public pronouncements, but then turning around and supporting pieces of legislation and policies that betray a much more radical side, so we skeptics will be watching closely to see whether words and deeds match-up this year. The governor and his allies struck a very reasonable and constructive tone at this time last year, too, but the session quickly devolved into a full court press to ram through a liberal wish list, resulting in a major backlash.  Our hope is that intervening events, including successful recall efforts and the crushing defeat of the big tax hike, sent the majority a message that Colorado has no interest in becoming another California. But only time will tell whether that message got through. We hope to see that reflected in deeds, not words.”
