Sean Grehalva is an Eagle Scout, former county party political director, and grassroots lobbyist; he currently serves as an online programming and curriculum specialist with Americans for Prosperity’s Education and Training Department.
Grehalva’s driving passion is making sure that activists in the field have access to the best possible tactics and strategies. He has found that the most rewarding part of his job is giving activists in the field access to leaders who can transform their efforts into meaningful change.
Grehalva originally started at Auburn University studying business management, and realized that he would benefit more from a real-world immersion into the working world. He left school and transitioned to a role as front desk supervisor and night manager of a local hotel. He then attained a banking positions with Regions Bank.
Running political campaigns at night and on the weekends, Grehalva’s career eventually brought him to his role as the Alabama state director and then southeast legislative director of US Term Limits, before coming to Americans for Prosperity.
Some of his roles in the Education and Training department have included leading the Foreign Policy curriculum design team, deploying to South Carolina to help jumpstart criminal justice reform initiatives, and developing and delivering Taxpayers' Bill of Rights (TABOR) curriculum in Colorado.
Over the course of his political life, Grehalva has served as the state committeeman and chairman of the Greater Birmingham Young Republicans, political director of the Shelby County GOP, and currently serves as an executive committee member of the Jefferson County GOP. His political passions center around issues that address the most egregious ways that governments hurt their citizens such as war, drug laws, and aggressive HOAs.
Grehalva and his wife, Danielle, share their home with their very energetic seven-year-old son and three Golden Retrievers. He now enjoys focusing his attention on power lifting and cooking up award winning barbeque for his family and friends.
