Assemblyman Jay Webber Recognized as “Taxpayer Hero”

26th District Lawmaker Scores 98% on State’s Premier Fiscal Scorecard

MONMOUTH JUNCTION, NJ – Americans for Prosperity, the state’s leading free-market, grassroots organization, is honoring Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26, Essex, Morris, Passaic) for his stellar fiscal voting record during the 215th Legislative Session.

“Over the past two years, Assembly Webber has shown that he is a champion of hard-working taxpayers. While Trenton continues to pursue an agenda of bigger and bigger government, Assemblyman Webber has remained steadfast in his commitment to lowering taxes and spending and making New Jersey a better, more prosperous place to live,” said state director Daryn Iwicki.

“In fact, Assemblyman Webber achieved a remarkable 98% score on our Taxpayer Scorecard—the highest rating of any legislator in the Assembly. Without saying, Assemblyman Webber’s constituents should be thankful to have a representative fighting for their interests in Trenton. And on behalf of AFP, I wanted to thank him for standing up for taxpayers.”

AFP bestowed the group’s coveted “Taxpayer Hero” award to Assemblyman Webber at an event held Saturday evening in Newark.

Americans for Prosperity plans to unveil the full results of the Taxpayer Scorecard, the state’s premier fiscal legislative scorecard, within the next several weeks.
