Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin Continues Push for Occupational Licensing Reform
Activists Urges Lawmakers to Co-Sponsor New Measure
MADISON, WI – Americans for Prosperity – Wisconsin announced its strong support for a bill introduced today to help remove barriers faced by Wisconsinites in their pursuit of the American Dream by reforming the state’s burdensome occupational licensing laws. AFP-WI encourages lawmakers to co-sponsor the new bill, LRB 2158. This measure provides a strong complement to LRB 3040, an occupational licensing bill introduced yesterday. Both bills were greeted with the enthusiastic support of AFP-WI activists.
“With the introduction of LRB 2158, this is truly a banner week for occupational licensing reform in the state of Wisconsin,” said AFP-WI State Director Eric Bott. “This common sense bill offers a far better approach than Wisconsin’s current licensing laws, which are among the worst in the nation. It provides a better approach to protecting public health and safety without needlessly crushing opportunity, destroying jobs, and stifling entrepreneurship. We thank Senators Darling and Kapenga and Representative Hutton and encourage all lawmakers to join them by co-sponsoring this bill.”
