Americans for Prosperity to Cohost Stop the EPA Power Grab Rally
Coloradans Will Stand Up in Denver on July 29th Against Job Killing Regulations
DENVER – The Environmental Protection Agency may not have expected the massive response from Americans for Prosperity and other organizations opposing their latest rules. On Tuesday, July 29th, the bureaucrats will get to see just how many Coloradans are willing to travel to Denver to rally against the carbon regulations. Americans for Prosperity will cohost a massive “Stop the EPA Power Grab” rally at Lincoln Park. See details below.
Where: Lincoln Park, Denver (on Colfax Ave next to the CO State Capitol).
When: Tuesday, July 29th, 12 to 3 PM
Why: In early June, the Obama administration announced the latest in a series of regulations on traditional energy production: a new EPA rule to cut carbon-dioxide emissions from coal- and gas-fired power plants across the United States.
This proposed rule could destroy as many as 80,000 jobs across the nation, according to the EPA’s own estimates. Coal producing states like Colorado will be particularly hard-hit.
Who: Policy experts will educate media and the public about the harmful impacts on job creation and energy costs. Speakers will be announced in the next few days.
“The EPA has chosen ideology over common sense policies and in the process is threatening to destroy tens of thousands of jobs and drive up the cost of energy,” explained Dustin Zvonek, Colorado State Director of Americans for Prosperity. “Our activists are looking forward to making it clear that they expect Congress to rein in the EPA, stop these regulations from being implemented, and stand up for sensible energy policy that creates jobs and keeps energy prices low.”
