Americans for Prosperity Says Latest ObamaCare Delay on “Lie of the Year” Won’t Help NH Victims Featured on AFP Ads

MANCHESTER – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today said that the Obama Administration’s latest plan to delay the termination of health care plans that do not qualify under ObamaCare to protect Democrats in this fall’s elections won’t help Helen DePrima and Donna Marzullo, recently featured in television ads by AFP-NH.

“This transparent, political ploy by the President to protect ObamaCare supporters won’t do anything to help Helen or Donna, or many of the other victims who have lost their care because their insurers are leaving New Hampshire or the marketplace,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director.  “President Obama, Senator Shaheen and Representative Shea-Porter all told us that ‘if you want your health care, you can keep it,’ which has now been determined to be the ‘Lie of the Year’ because of these terminations of the health care plans of numerous New Hampshire residents.  It’s time for them, as well as Representative Kuster – who has fully embraced ObamaCare – to take responsibility and stop the provisions that will cancel health care plans for tens of thousands of New Hampshire residents, not just extend a deadline to try to get past the next election.”

Marzullo will speak this evening at AFP-NH’s Healthcare Freedom Rally in Salem, an event that starts at 6:30 PM at the Southern New Hampshire University building at 25 Pelham Rd.

“As much President Obama would like to sweep people like Donna and Helen under the rug and make their inconvenient stories about losing the health care plans they liked, they are not going away,” added Moore.  “The cynical efforts of an administration to avoid accountability will not deter the many people who are furious that they were lied to by their elected leaders.  The public will not forget the damage that ObamaCare has done to lives of the citizens and make sure those who supported it are held responsible.”
