Americans for Prosperity Launches Fourth Wave of Ads Holding Senator Hagan Accountable on Affordable Care Act
Raleigh, NC – Americans for Prosperity has launched the fourth wave in a series of television ads going back to late October that target Senator Kay Hagan’s support of the Affordable Care Act – also known as Obamacare.
“We want to continue to apply constituent pressure on Senator Hagan for her support of the Affordable Care Act,” said John Dudley, AFP’s North Carolina State Director. “The Senator has failed to apologize for telling North Carolinians that if they liked their health insurance plan they can keep it, nor has she offered to explain increasing premiums in North Carolina. We plan on holding her accountable by educating her constituents and urging them to contact her.”
Dudley continued, “The first time this ad aired it appeared to have great effect across the state and we received significant positive feedback from our statewide network of activists.”
This ad will play statewide and amounts to a $1.4 million buy. This new wave features the replay of an ad that aired in December. This ad can be seen here.
Dudley continued, “The consequences from Senator Hagan’s support of the Affordable Care Act have affected hundreds of thousands of North Carolinians due to plan cancellations and higher premiums. We want to send the message that this debate is about people, not politics and using North Carolinians as political pawns.”
In mid-December, Senator Hagan told Politico, “Yeah, I would vote for it again,” when pressed on her support of the Affordable Care Act.
