Americans for Prosperity Launches Ad Holding Shaheen Accountable for Lost Hospital Access

MANCHESTER – Americans for Prosperity – New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today launched a major TV ad effort holding Senator Jeanne Shaheen accountable for her support for ObamaCare and the impact it is having on access to local hospitals across the state.  Ten of the state’s 26 hospitals are not included in network offered through the ObamaCare exchange by Anthem, the only insurer selling plans.  The effort includes broadcast and cable television, online advertising and direct mail to the public.

“Senator Shaheen said that she was ‘proud’ of her support for ObamaCare and she stands shoulder to shoulder with President Obama on the issue, as she does 99% of the time,” said Greg Moore, AFP-NH State Director.  “New Hampshire citizens know that taking access to their local hospitals away from 10 communities is nothing to be proud of.  With citizens now having to travel an hour or more to get care and losing their doctors thanks to Senator Shaheen’s deciding vote to pass ObamaCare, she should be apologizing for the damage her law has done to the lives of many across the state.”

AFP-NH pointed out that Senator Shaheen has refused to hold open town hall meetings to discuss ObamaCare.

“Senator Shaheen should go the 10 communities that lost their hospital and tell them, face-to-face, why she is so proud of her vote to cut off access to them,” added Moore.  “That she won’t is a clear indication that she knows just how much scrutiny she will face if she did.  Since she won’t accept accountability for her actions, AFP is committed to letting the public know the consequences of her law and helping them letting her know that ObamaCare isn’t working.”
