Americans for Prosperity: Justice Restored After Unanimous Jury Referendum Passes

BATON ROUGE, La. – Americans for Prosperity-Louisiana (AFP-LA) on Tuesday night cheered the passage of Constitutional Amendment 2, a referendum that will require unanimous jury decisions in all court cases.

AFP-LA State Director John Kay issued the following statement:

“Louisianans can feel better about our state’s justice system after voting to pass Constitutional Amendment 2. This amendment protects the rights of the accused and ensures that any verdict handed down is truly beyond a reasonable doubt. Passage of this amendment is proof that no matter the ideology, we can come together and change our society for the better.”
