Americans For Prosperity – Iowa Thanks Gov. Reynolds for Ending Participation in Federal Unemployment Benefit Programs, Bolstering Iowa’s Growing Jobs

DES MOINES, IA – Following Governor Kim Reynolds’ announcement marking the end to Iowa’s participation in the Federal Unemployment Benefit Programs that are hindering the state’s economic recovery, Americans for Prosperity-Iowa (AFP-IA) released a statement thanking Gov. Reynolds for taking this step to help boost Iowa’s economy and help businesses who are looking to create jobs.

Following the Biden Administration’s most recent jobs report, it is clear that the ongoing federal unemployment benefits remain a significant barrier to economic recovery. Gov. Reynolds’ actions today will make strides to do so and help reduce unemployment across Iowa.

AFP-IA State Director Drew Klein released the following statement thanking Governor Kim Reynolds:

“On behalf of our activists across Iowa, we thank Governor Reynolds for doing what needed to be done to jumpstart Iowa’s economy and pave the way towards recovery for small businesses and families alike. After April’s underwhelming jobs report, it’s clear that these ongoing benefits continue to be a hinderance, rather than a boon, to our economic recovery. Thanks to Governor Reynolds’ actions today, Iowa is one step closer to helping our families get back on their feet.”
