Americans for Prosperity-Florida Commends Florida House for Passing Transformational Education Reform, House Bill 1

Tallahassee, Fla. – Americans for Prosperity-Florida today issued the following statement after the Florida House passed House Bill 1, which would allow all Florida families to determine the education that works best for their children.

“All Florida families are much closer to having the opportunity to determine the kind of education that allows their children to thrive – whether that’s in a public school, private school, home school, charter school, or any other pathway that best suits each child’s individual needs,” said AFP-FL State Director Skylar Zander. “Thankfully, House Bill 1 passed off the floor today with overwhelming support in the House of Representatives. This bill will ensure that funding serves the needs of children and their parents. We are proud to say that Florida continues to lead the way in education freedom. This latest step would not be possible without the dedicated leadership of Speaker Paul Renner or bill sponsors Rep. Kaylee Tuck and Rep. Susan Plasencia. We now encourage the Senate to take up their bill on the floor and pass it, to then swiftly be sent to Governor Ron DeSantis for his signature.”
