Bill would allow the public greater input in the regulatory process.

MADISON – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin applauds the House and Speaker Ryan for passing the REINS Act, which would finally allow Congress to reassert its constitutional role in the rulemaking process by requiring Congressional approval of every major rule issued by the Executive Branch before it could take effect.

AFP-Wisconsin state director Eric Bott issued the following statement: “We thank the House of Representatives and Speaker Ryan for passing this important piece of legislation, and now call on the Wisconsin legislature to follow in their footsteps by passing the Wisconsin REINS Act, giving citizens and the legislature greater oversight in the regulatory process. Wisconsinites deserve relief from these overly burdensome regulations that are dragging our economy down. We applaud Senator Devin LeMahieu and Representative Adam Neylon for authoring the Wisconsin REINS Act and encourage other members of the legislature to co-sponsor the bill.”
