Free market activists urge Senator Tammy Baldwin to deliver tax relief for Wisconsin families
MADISON, WI – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin today urged U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin to vote ‘Yes’ on the final tax reform plan that will soon be voted on in the Senate. Despite her repeated pledges to work across the aisle in support of tax reform, Baldwin voted against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act when it came before the Senate last month. AFP-Wisconsin’s base of over 130,000 grassroots activists has worked tirelessly in 2017 to encourage lawmakers to pass principled, pro-growth tax reform before the end of the year.
Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin State Director Eric Bott made the following statement:
“For years, Senator Baldwin has claimed to support tax policy that helps working families in Wisconsin. The tax reform plan produced by the joint House-Senate conference committee would do exactly that by putting more money in the pockets of hardworking Wisconsinites and giving a boon to all sectors of our economy, especially agriculture and manufacturing. Our activists were extremely disappointed, but not really surprised, when Senator Baldwin put her far-left ideology over the best economic interests of her constituents with her ‘No’ vote last month. Senator Baldwin has one more chance to get it right on tax reform by supporting this historic legislation that will create jobs, raise wages, and unleash new American business investment. We are hoping for a Christmas Miracle where Senator Baldwin sees the light, votes ‘Yes’ on tax reform and puts the people of Wisconsin over partisan politics for a change.”
