AFP-Virginia Urges Legislators to Ignore McAuliffe’s Demands, Pass Clean Budget

Mar 24, 2014 by AFP

Richmond—Americans for Prosperity-Virginia State Director Sean Lansing issued the following statement Monday as General Assembly members returned to Richmond for a Special Session on the Virginia state budget:

“Two weeks after Governor McAuliffe and his shutdown allies in the Senate urged their colleagues to return home to learn how their constituents felt about more ObamaCare in Virginia, citizens from every corner of the Commonwealth have sent a resounding message to their leaders in Richmond: Do not shut down the government over ObamaCare. Instead, pass a clean budget that funds priorities like K-12 education and public safety without expanding the president’s disastrous health care law.

“Local government officials, business leaders and Virginia citizens have spoken. It is long past time that Governor McAuliffe and the 23 state Senators advocating for more ObamaCare end their political charade and start listening so that we can move Virginia forward. “
