AFP-Virginia: Statement in advance of Governor McAuliffe’s news conference

Mar 6, 2014 by AFP

Richmond—Americans for Prosperity-Virginia State Director Sean Lansing issued the following statement Thursday in advance of Governor Terry McAuliffe’s news conference on Medicaid expansion:

“At today’s news conference, millions of Virginian’s who rely on vital public services and K-12 education deserve an explanation from Governor McAuliffe concerning his sudden change of heart regarding government shutdowns.

“Has Governor McAuliffe already forgotten that, just last year, he said that Virginia’s Congressional delegation should:

“…stop using the threat of a government shutdown as a bargaining chip in other negotiations, including over the health care law.”

“If a government shutdown over ObamaCare was bad for the nation, why is it all of a sudden good for Virginia? While we doubt that Governor McAuliffe will ever address his flip flop, we remain hopeful that he and 23 state Senators will stop threatening the well-being of Virginia in an effort to score cheap political points.”
