AFP-VA: Permanent Grassroots Force Will Work to Shape Policy Outcomes in Northam Years

Nov 7, 2017 by AFP

RICHMOND – Americans for Prosperity-Virginia (AFP-VA) tonight expressed disappointment at the outcome of Virginia’s gubernatorial election but applauded its grassroots activists for their inspiring effort in spreading the message of why Ralph Northam was wrong for Virginia.

The organization’s grassroots infrastructure remains at the ready to defend and advance economic freedom in the coming months and years.

AFP-Virginia State Director JC Hernandez issued the following statement:

“The fight for freedom never stops. Americans for Prosperity has a permanent, year-round grassroots infrastructure here in Virginia. Thanks to their committed, passionate activism, our grassroots are now primed to hold Northam accountable during his time as governor—and we plan to do just that. It’s back to work tomorrow.

“Moving forward, our staff and volunteers will go to work advancing policies that advance economic freedom and will help Virginians succeed, like expanding educational opportunities, reducing red tape, and lowering the tax burden. If the Northam administration tries to advance policies that grow government and make life more costly, we stand ready, willing, and able to educate our neighbors on the issues.

“As we canvassed, we saw incredible frustration with the Northam agenda, and we plan to represent those people during this next legislative session.”
