AFP-UT Applauds Passage of Utah Fits All Scholarship bill

Salt Lake City, UT – Americans for Prosperity-UT (AFP-UT) today commended lawmakers for the passage of HB215, the Utah Fits All Scholarship bill, which expands educational freedom in the state by creating a scholarship program, similar to an ESA (Educational Savings Account) that gives parents and children more choice when it comes to their education. This bill also includes a $6,000 raise for teachers.

AFP Utah State Director Heather Andrews made the following statement:

“Today, we thank Utah legislators for their hard work to expand educational freedom and choice for Utah parents and students. With the passage of this bill, Utah became the second state in the nation this year to pass legislation that give students and families a say in their education. We are proud of this historic win and commend Utah leaders for making it happen. This bill truly prioritizes the two most important parts of our education system – students and teachers – and champions a salary increase for our hard working educators, and expands freedom for our families while providing tremendous opportunity for each of our students to succeed.”
